Are all videos/movies the same frame rate, explain you answer
No, because if there are a high frame rate the movement is quicker and flowing. While if there was a low frame rate the movement of the video will be jerky and not smooth

What is meant by resolution, how is it measured
It describes the number of dots, or pixels, used to display an image. measured my pixels

What is the colour system called RGB
 It is a system containing the colours red, green, blue and are added together to in various ways to form a broad array of colours

Explain the video standards PAL, NTSC, and SECAM, what are the main differences between them
PAL, short for Phase Alternating Line, NTSC named for the National Television System Committee, Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire OR Sequential Colour with Memory. The main differences between them is that each country uses a different system, meaning that each system is INCOMPATIBLE with each other.

We use PAL (Phase Alternating Line)



What is an IEEE 1394 port

It is also known as FireWire, that originated from Apple. It allows you to connect an device (eg. video camera) into the computer. IEEE 1394 allows a much higher bandwidth than USB, this allow you to feed a high-resolution video camera into a computer without experiences issues.

 

Why do digital video camera use video compression

Compression means the information is packed into a smaller space. Videos take up a lot of space, "lossy" compression, compresses the video into smaller files, but the video will still keep its high-quality picture. We use video compression to make the video smaller. 

Describe what a codec is

Shorter names for codec-decoder, it takes RAW files and turns it into a compressed file.

What is meant by "generation loss", where does it happen ?

It refers to the loss of quality and potential increase of file size. Anything that reduces the quality of the representation when copying, and would cause further reduction in quality on making a copy of the copy, can be considered a form of generation loss. It can occur by 'lossy compression' as lossy compression throws away data, which cannot be restored.
